What Fuels WIAA Student Athletes?

Lonny and Michelle Schilter share their story and their take on this important issue of dairy products and school athletics in Washington. Lonny's family has been dairy farming in Washington since 1967, and he and his wife have been farming in Chehalis for fifteen years. Lonny is a dairy farmer and a youth soccer coach. The Schilters have two children you are extremely active, involved in multiple athletic activities including basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Lonny explains how interscholastic activities are essential to building life skills like teamwork, dedication, and discipline and how the Dairy Farmers of Washington's involvement with WIAA has made a huge impact on the lives of Washington youth. The parternship is important because it's a great way for the Dairy Farmers of Washington to show the importance of good nutrition as part of an athlete's physical development and training. Dairy helps bone growth and also replenishes the athletes' bodies so they can perform at the highest level day after day.
