Take a moment to think where your food comes from – the very root of where it began!

In a generation focused on the fast-paced hustle and bustle that our culture seems to thrive on, many of us forget where the food on the very plate in front of us comes from.

In honor of National Agriculture Day I would like to take a moment to thank something we all get the privilege to be a part of – farming.

You might be thinking, “Well, I live in an apartment building in the middle of a city… I’m not a part of agriculture!”

Adam Dolsen, owner of Cow Palace dairy in Granger, Washington has recently been elected to serve on the Dairy Farmers of Washington (DFW) Board of Directors. 
Cow Palace has been in the Dolsen Family for three generations, beginning with Dolsen’s grandfather in the early 70s.  
For the last four years, Dolsen has been in charge of the dairy’s 7,200 cattle and other day-to-day operations with his wife, Morgan and their three children, Mack, Ellie, and Sunny.

Michelle Schilter, DFW Board Chair and third-generation dairy farmer, recently attended South by Southwest (SxSW), to bust food myths and discuss the benefits of technology in today’s food system at workshops and panels. 

“When most people think of technology in Washington they’re thinking Microsoft or Amazon, but I wanted them to start thinking about dairy,” stated Schilter.
