Ohio dairy farmer found innocent of animal abuse charges

The Union County Prosecutor in Ohio announced last week that Gary Conklin, co-owner of Conklin Dairy Cattle Sales LLC, along with members of his family and other employees, will not be charged following a grand jury investigation into April's secretly recorded video by the extremist group Mercy for Animals. (Click here to read the press release issued by the Union County Prosecutor's office, and click here to read the statement issued by Gary Conklin.) This announcement is an important step in the investigation. The animal mistreatment seen in the Conklin video by Billy Joe Gregg, a former Conklin worker, is unacceptable and is not representative of how Ohio dairy farmers care for their cows and calves. What's more, it is not representative of how any dairy farmers care for their cows and calves.
