Game Day Recipes

Huddle up! Football season is officially here. And while we love watching our favorite teams (Go Seahawks!) do battle on the gridiron, a game day without the appropriate football food fare is deserving of a bright yellow penalty flag. But never fear. We’re here to make sure your tailgater, big game bashes and Saturday/Sunday sweatpants sessions are laden with end zone edibles worthy of a Top 10 Touchdown Dance.

Our absolute favorite football food is a perfect plate of nachos - so cheesy even a Green Bay fan would approve. And making them is faster than Adrian Peterson and easier than intercepting Tim Tebow (which we all know is cake).

Another game day staple is a warm, hearty chili. Sure, you can bust out the can opener and reheat some beans -- but why not try something new? We think this Creamy White Chili Recipe is more desirable than Tom Brady’s hair. And what’s a giant bowl of chili without a piece of moist cornbread? Try Grandmother’s Buttermilk Cornbread.

Don’t forget a few snacks to satisfy those halftime hankerings. Whip up a batch of Mini Zucchini Pizzas for something lighter to nibble on. Or indulge with a Buffalo Chicken Beer Cheese Dip. Are there four better words to put in front of “dip"? We think not. Round out the halftime performance with a plate full of Ham & Cheese Pretzel Bites. If you try to drown them in the cheese dip before you eat them, we won’t be mad.

And pre-, post-, mid-game, these Football Whoopie Pies are a fun finger food for the kiddos. Okay, who are we kidding? They’re not just for the kids. You can expect a record number of interceptions when you pass them around.
